Bees
Think of bees and you probably think of hives and honey. However, the honey bee is just one of almost 300 species of bee which have been recorded in Great Britain. Whereas honey bees and bumble bees live socially, the majority of our native bees are solitary. Mason bees, leaf-cutter bees and wool-carder bees are all solitary and live inside holes in plant stems, brickwork and wood. We can create ideal habitats for these bees in the form of bug hotels!
